Jared Lane, Founder
Jared Lane founded Pro Edge Sports in 2001. He has been in the Sports Management business for over nine years. Jared has a B.S. in Business Management from Alabama State University. He received a Master’s in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University and is currently working on his Master’s in Teaching at Belmont University. Jared is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society for his excellence in Sports Leadership.
Jared has worked as the Director of Player Personnel for numerous professional indoor teams. Jared’s ability to effectively evaluate talent helped him land his first NFL client by the age of 21. Jared’s main duties within the company include managing the daily operations, contract negotiations, recruiting, player counseling, marketing, endorsements, player evaluation, media relations, sports business training and managing the PES Academy.
Sports Marketing Course
Mr. Dittelman has held senior management roles at the Harlem Globetrotters, the National Basketball Association and Sporting News. In addition, Michael has provided consulting services to several sports media and Gotham Sports Media, Legacy Boxing, Game Over NY, Pustari NHRA Racing, CNC-Haas Racing and Cupp Motorsports, NASCAR racing teams.
Michael’s initial work at Sports Illustrated, and USA Today’s Baseball Weekly magazine (known today at USA Today Sports Weekly) enabled him to work closely with each of the professional sports teams and leagues, countless blue-chip advertisers, along with promotional and public relations agencies. Overall, Mr. Dittelman has been extremely successful in developing new sales and sponsorship opportunities for clients, as well as creating various marketing programs to generate new revenue streams in the digital media space.
Born in Ossining, NY where he attended Ossining High, Mr. Dittelman received his B.A. from Brandeis University in American Studies where he conducted an Independent Study on Major League Baseball’s effect on Social American History. Michael now resides in White Plains, NY with his wife and children.
Baseball Scouting and Operations Course
Brian Porter is currently the Director of Baseball Initiatives for Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM). He has worked in Major League Baseball for the past 13 years. His current responsibilities include overseeing MLB’s Instant Replay Process, as well as a number of internal baseball related technology projects. He is heavily involved in the Pitch F/x program and serves as a liaison to the Baseball Operations department in the Commissioner’s office.
Prior to joining MLBAM, he worked for in the Commissioners office as a Specialist for Major League Operations. In this role, he was responsible for all scouting operation projects including the administration of the First Year Player Draft. He was responsible for advising all clubs and amateur players about the draft process in regards to eligibility and adherence to all MLB and NCAA rules. He also handled logistical issues in preparation for the draft and post draft procedures regarding signing bonuses and player assignment. He served as a liaison to all MLB supported showcases, college summer leagues and amateur youth baseball groups. He played an integral part in many grass roots baseball efforts such as the Breakthrough Series.
Before joining the Commissioner’s Office, Brian worked 9 years in player development and scouting for the Chicago White Sox. He was involved in all aspects of player development including evaluation of players and staff, contract negotiation, player acquisition, immigration, and budget preparation. He also assisted in arbitration preparation and Major League roster construction. For his efforts, Brian received a World Series Ring when the White Sox won the World Series in 2005. Brian completed his undergraduate degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta and his Masters of Sports Administration degree from Ohio University.
Football Scouting and Operations Course
Rodd Newhouse spent seven seasons in the pro personnel department of the Arizona Cardinals, where his duties ranged from the evaluation of collegiate and professional players to the advance scouting of future opponents to negotiating contracts.

While working with the National Football League Management Council and as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, and ESPN, he has used his expertise to expound upon my professional relationships that have allowed me access to privileged and confidential information, benefiting each of our clients uniquely. With over 15 years in the front-offices of the National Football League (NFL) and real estate investment world, I have been a pioneer in my field of expertise.

Along with the knowledge and personal experience I have obtained in the sports and management arenas, I have used my Economics and Managerial Studies background to generate new ideas and concepts that are unique in the sports industry. Doug Hollandsworth is President/CEO of Hollandsworth Enterprises, Inc. near Atlanta . Through Hollandsworth Enterprises, he founded GolfLife Marketing in 1983, which is one of the leading International golf marketing/media hospitality companies, with clients such as Delta Air Lines, Marriott Golf, Pepsi, Bridgestone Golf, PGA National Resort, The PGA TOUR, World Golf Village , and Colonial Williamsburg. GolfLife Marketing works with clients all over the world promoting their services and products to the golfing public. He also published Golf Life Magazine.
Doug hosted the #1 golf talk radio program The Golf Showin the US from 1995-2001 on WCNN in Atlanta. He was also host of Golf Southern Style, a cable golf TV show from 1997-2000. He also founded Executive Golf Promotions in Atlanta , where he designed promotional and hospitality events, golf tournaments, and fund raising, with clients such as Volvo, Cadillac, University of Georgia , and Georgia Tech. Doug is the Travel Editor for Lifeway Christian Magazine, in Nashville, Doug is also associate publisher of GolfStyles Magazine, the #1 regional golf magazine in the United States . He is Travel Editor for 4 golf websites, as well as Travel Host for Golf America, the leading cable golf TV show. Doug has just been named CEO and Tournament Director for The Club Cup a new PGA/LPGA New Media Event to take place in 2011. A nationwide event with public golf courses using the new media, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, IPhone, that will bring kids, women and men back into the game of golf. Doug is a member of the Pro Edge Sports Academy faculty where he teaches Golf Management.
He is a graduate of Mercer University and John Marshall Law School in Atlanta .
Sports Broadcasting Course
David Brody is a three-time New Jersey Radio Sportscaster of the Year. He is the former voice of the Princeton Tigers and has hosted on WIP in Philadelphia and on the Sports Byline Radio Network. David is an award winning sportscaster with over 25 years of on-air and talent coaching experience. Since 2003, David has coached and represented talent, including national personalities, Arnie Spanier, John Fricke, Howard David and Rick Ballou. David began his sports casting career in 1979.
While attending the U. of Hartford, he worked as a sports and news reporter for the legendary Hartford powerhouse WDRC. Since graduating in 1983, David has worked as a play-by-play announcer, sports talk-show host, and update anchor in Philadelphia (WIP), Youngstown OH, Princeton N.J., and for America’s first sports talk show network, Sportsbyline USA. David was a familiar voice on Sportsbyline from 1993-2003, where he was heard in America’s largest markets, including, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Detroit, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver, Phoenix and Seattle. David was named the N.J. Radio Sportscaster of the Year in 1990, ’91, and ’92 for his work as the play-by-play voice of the Princeton University basketball and football teams. David has also freelanced as a pre-game studio host for the Oakland Raiders, Oakland A’s, and Philadelphia 76ers.
David taught sports broadcasting at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Damien Comolli
Soccer Scouting & Operations Course
Born in Beziers, France, Damien Comolli started his career as a youth team player with AS Monaco. In 1992, he assumed control of AS Moncao’s Under 16 squad and won several championships at that level. After earning a degree in Law and successfully pursuing his coaching badges, he joined Arsenal, one of the greatest teams in the English Premier League, in 1996. He spent seven years serving as the club as a top European Scout and was credited with the discovery of world class players such as Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, and Gael Clichy. He then spent three years as director of football at another great English club, Tottenham Hotspurs. During his stint at Tottenham Hotspurs, Mr. Comolli was in charge of the medical, academy, scouting and club secretarial departments. Although his time at Tottenham did not end in the best of ways, his long term vision and transfer strategy has paid off and the club has broken into the EPL top four and now competes in the UEFA Champions League. Damien Comolli is currently serving as sporting director of one of the most storied sides in France, provincial club St.Etienne.
David Perricone
Sports Merchandising Course
David graduated from Robert Morris University with a degree in Sport Management. While at college worked in the Athletic Department as a student assistant for three years he also worked for the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club in the ticketing and marketing department. After completing an internship with the New Jersey Devils Hockey Club was hired as a staff assistant for the organization. Has been promoted from Merchandise Assistant, Merchandise Manager, Director of Merchandise to current title of Senior Director of Merchandise. Also head the New Jersey Nets merchandise for two seasons.
David was also a part-time Sport Management instructor at Gibbs College in New Jersey. He has been the leading contributor and leader with the Robert Morris University Sport Management Alumni efforts by contributing to the Sports Management Bottom Line newsletter, and serving as a founding member of the RMU Sport Management Alumni Group.
In 2009 he was inducted into Robert Morris University Sport Management Hall of Fame. Dave obtained his MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickenson University.
Sally Sullivan
Sports Law Course
Sally Sullivan has been involved in many facets of sports: competitor, coach, sales representative for sports equipment companies,attorney/agent; and a professor.
Sally’s passion for sports began as a competitive tennis player. As a nationally ranked junior and then participant in the Futures Circuit, Sally traveled the world playing tennis. Coaching followed her playing days, having coached in Connecticut, Florida, Texas, Washington, Oregon, and England. After a divorce, Sally decided to apply her expertise and understanding of sports by attending law school and then representing athletes as an attorney with Garvey Schubert & Barer in Washington. Some of her clients were: Venus and Serena Williams (tennis); Lincoln Kennedy (football); Katy Steding, Jennifer Azzi, Pauline and Janine Jordan, Julie Zielstra (women’s basketball) In addition Sally has represented minor league baseball players and Olympic Athletes. Following her attorney/agent career, Sally has turned to teaching first with Kaplan then with Sports Management Worldwide; and then with Nova Southeastern University; Northcentral University; Concordia, DeVry, and now Pro Edge Sports Academy.
Mike Butler has spent 26 years in the NFL working as a Scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts and the Detroit Lions. He also worked in various capacities for the Steelers for an additional eight years starting as a ball boy at the age of fifteen. He was the Director of College Scouting for the Indianapolis Colts from 2000 to 2006 leading up to the Colts Super Bowl XLI victory in the 2006-2007 season. It has been his great fortune to work and learn from some of the all time greats in the history of professional football, including, Art Rooney Sr., Dan Rooney, Chuck Noll, Art Rooney Jr., Dick Haley, Ted Marchibroda, Bill Tobin, Tony Dungy and Bill Polian.
During his tenure as Director of College Scouting the Colts no team in the NFL won more games or had a higher winning percentage than the Colts did. During that span the Colts averaged over 10 wins per season and made the playoffs six out of seven seasons. In his career Mike has helped build teams that made 11 playoff appearances, his teams have won 9 Division Titles, and have gone to 3 AFC Championship games. Butler has helped discover 33 players that have made a total of 74 Pro Bowl appearances and won 2 NFL Player of the Year awards and 2 Rookie of the Year awards.
Throughout a scouting career that has lasted over two and a half decades, he has been involved in drafting some of the greatest names the game has ever seen, including Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Edgerrin James, Dwight Freeney, Marshall Faulk, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Bob Sanders, Robert Mathis, Tarik Glenn, Brent Jones, Andre Rison, and Louis Lipps.
Working in Sports Management has provided Mike valuable experience in Competitive Intelligence, Leading Teams, Organizational Communication, Business Ethics in Sports, Decision Making and Problem Solving.
Mike is a graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has a Masters in Leadership with a concentration in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University.
