Soccer Scouting

The Soccer Scouting and operations course aims to provide students with the necessary tools and knowledge to venture into the world of scouting and team operations.

This course is designed for students interested in becoming soccer scouts, working in soccer team operations and becoming a sports agent or a team’s general manager. The course will also enable students to enter the field of sports PR and marketing as well as the Sports Media and Communication Field.

In this 8-week course, you will learn about the following:

• Scouting Responsibilities
• Organizational Hierarchy
• Soccer Scouting
• Player acquisition process
• Player Evaluation
• Writing a Soccer Scouting Report
• The Role of Agents

Course Material:

Soccer Scouts need to learn how to properly evaluate players and recognize untapped potential at all levels of the game whether it is at the collegiate level in the USA or in youth academies in Europe and around the world.  Throughout this 8 week course students will have access to different types of material which will present them with the strategies to become a great soccer scout.

Online Webinars: During the Webinar, cases will be discussed and students will be able to interact with each other to add different perspectives to the case.

Online Consulting: Students will be able to rely on the highest level of consultancy provided by ProEdge Sports and its partners

Media Resources: ProEdge Sports will provide the students with useful websites, magazines, publications (Digital and print) , books and other material that will help in shaping their knowledge about scouting

At the end of the 8 week course, all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successfully meeting the course requirements.

Course Faculty
Damien Comolli:
Born in Beziers, France, Damien Comolli started his career as a youth team player with AS Monaco. In 1992, he assumed control of AS Moncao’s Under 16 squad and won several championships at that level. After earning a degree in Law and successfully pursuing his coaching badges, he joined Arsenal, one of the greatest teams in the English Premier League, in 1996. He spent seven years serving as the club as a top European Scout and was credited with the discovery of world class players such as Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, and Gael Clichy. He then spent three years as director of football at another great English club, Tottenham Hotspurs. During his stint at Tottenham Hotspurs, Mr. Comolli was in charge of the medical, academy, scouting and club secretarial departments. Although his time at Tottenham did not end in the best of ways, his long term vision and transfer strategy has paid off and the club has broken into the EPL top four and now competes in the UEFA Champions League. Damien Comolli is currently serving as sporting director of one of the most storied sides in France, provincial club St.Etienne.
